I had the new EF 85 mm 1.2 L on my camera
and set to manual focus, because the plate was very contrasty.
then "climbed" on the statue to get the best position and shoot the plate. so, my position was not looking very elegant… let’s say it was looking very exotic :-)) you need to move for- or backwards just for 1 millimeter and your focus point is gone. so you can imagine what pain it was, to stay calm in that exotic position, holding the camera with the "heay weight lens" and pointing the focus in the area I wanted to have. :-))
what you see in this shot, is a line of text from this plate and the DOF is really about 10mm at 85/1.2 (ISO 1600 made the grain)

Very good use of DOF here, dang and this was done only with the camera and lens, Can I have that lens? lol. I also love the conversion to monochrome, really stunning shot, yup will pass the muster in any exhibition.
