… concubine

… concubine

dear, I’ll stay gold just to keep these pasts at bay
to keep the loneliest of nights from claiming you
and to keep these longest of days from waking you
for I felt the greatest of winters coming
and I saw you as seasons shifting from blue to grey
that’s where the coldest of these days await me
and distance lays her heavy head beside me
there I’ll stay gold,

… forever gold

Vernon, there are so many emotions in this image. A wonderful and very imaginative use of composition, theatrical setting and DOF. Stunning photograph. The freckles of the arm against the contrasting purity of the mask and leg really make this one for me. And Andriy, it would be really creepy if the person in the shot was Vernon! ;-)

Hi Vernon, I like this shot. I love masks used in these sort of images, it's the passive expression the mask gives, that contrasts with the tension in the rest of the shot. I love the shiny glow on the arm.
