… approach

shot taken in Berlin at the "Holocaust Mahnmal" during the European Photoblogger Meet-up.

I had two "actors" for this shot, on the left the hand of J.J.Hoffmann and on the right, Iron Flatline‘s hand.

die Idee ist alt, aber deine Umsetzung ist supermodern und sehr gelungen.

I like the image - a lot. Rolf is correct in that it's an old idea. The subject of making contact is interesting and subtle. The fact that the image has a sort of mirror-like quality reflects this. When we make contact we must see ourselves in the other person and vice versa. In addition it inevitably makes you think about the most famous use of this motif (Michaelangelos "Creation of Man") and so this our thoughts. For this reason I'm less happy about the text at the bottom. Not because I disagree with the sentiment, but I feel it makes the image too dogmatic. It tells us what to think, rather than suggesting, and so for me it becomes a little one dimensional.

Excellent commentary, from your point of view. I like the reference/inference to crossing the road to meet the other...very deep. :~D xx
